Christmas 2011

Christmas 2011. A few photo's to share. Unfortunately my blog is playing up again so not too much comment - is that a bad thing?
Val started off the day with a Google cuddle. Al did the Father Christmas thing. Ches played at chef for the day - and a bloody good job she did, delicious dinner. I sort of did nothing.
A great Christmas. And an added bonus of Argyle winning 3-2 away at Bristol today (Boxing day).
You all have a cracking 2012. Love from sunny Plymouth.

Happy Christmas part 2

For some reason I got kicked out of Blogger during my last post. As you can see I managed to recover it, but didn't spellcheck or read through, so hope it makes sense!
To continue.....
Since my partial retirement I have taken up a new hobby. You may or may not be aware that I am a Sci Fi freak. I have wanted to display some models for some years now, just couldn't find any suitable. I have now.
Micro Machines made by Galoob. They ceased production in the late 90's so it's e-bay search time.
I now have the complete collection of Star Trek, Babylon 5 and Aliens.
Am currently collecting Star Wars and am on the lookout for Starship Troopers.
Am not sure if I will publish a blog or a website. Time will tell.
Anyways. Love from us in sunny Plymouth and a cracking Christmas to all and have a super 2012.

Happy Christmas

I am aware that it has been a long time since an update.
I apologise!!
Things have gone on here as per usual, life goes on as they say. I took Partial Retirement in August, many times people have told me that if you do retire, albeit partially, then you will fill your time.
How true. The fact that I haven't been on the blog will testify to that!
Four mornings a week the boys and I are our Plymbridge for a walk. On a nice day we can be out for a couple of hours or more. Back home for breakfast and we are past midday! Ah well, it beats work.
Tracey in sunny Australia is expecting her second, so lots and lots of congratulations there. Not sure if Tyler wants a brother or sister. He will probably write to Santa to sort that out.
Big news is something we are awaiting confirmation on. Ches was due to get her degree nisi on the 21st of this month. We haven't heard to the contrary so we assume all went through OK. Big thing to happen in life but sometimes loves young dream just doesn't turn out as one would want.
Al is doing well at school. She is among those that will have to pay for any University tuition so it could prove an expensive time for her. How a country such as ours that relies on good education for its poplace could make such a drastic error is totally beyond me. How is a kid from an ordinary working background going to deal with such a debt so early in life. Our Goverment really does have a lot to answer for, but it's full of millionaires so do they understand or even care?

At last!! I am back

Have had huge issues trying to publish on this blog. The "publish post " button failed to work.

I use "Explorer" as my browser and about 15 minutes ago had a brainwave. What if the browser is the problem. It is! I am now using "Firefox" and I have been able to publish no problem at all. As you can see I was able to publish my last attempt "Time".

Funny how a blog on the importance of time to me took such a lot of that commodity to get the message across!!

Needless to say with all the messing about I have run out of time - but now I know the issue in the words of Arnie - "I'll be back!"

Time

Well folks it has been a long time since I updated this blog. Like most people nowadays time is a rare commodity.
As if to prove the point Val has just called me downstairs as she wanted to watch a film. This is a PIN protected channel. The box is not accepting the PIN. I have just tried and now it is locked for 15 minutes. We use this PIN all the time on this box and it has now decided it doesn't want to play. I will try the factory setting PIN in 15 minutes, but in the meantime Val's film rolls on without her!!
I will try to continue. As I said, time is something we just don't seem to have enough of.
Well, I am now doing something about it. I am lucky insomuch as the Inland Revenue, sorry HMRC recently changed the rule re pensions and working with the same employer. I can now partially retire and take my full pension. This is what I intend to do starting 10th August. I am reducing my working week to 21 hours over three days. Tues, Weds and Thurs. I missed out on Ted Heath's three day working week as the RAF didn't think it was a good idea! So I am having my very own.
I started leave last Wednesday so when I go back it is to a shortened week...pure bliss.
At the moment I am up at between 07.30 and 9.00, depending how I feel then the boys and I head out to Plymbridge woods. Lots of doggie walkers for me to talk to and dogs for the boys to play with. Today, at one point, we had six male Westies milling around - but all breeds are welcome.
I find we are out there for between 1 1/2 and 2 hours. The boys are a bit tired when we get back and have been lazing out the front in the sunshine. I get home and have breakies with a cuppa and the paper. iPod playing in the background completes the picture.
In keeping with the theme of this post Windows Explorer has decided to play up so I will try to publish this and return later!!

Google's tumor benign

The boys, Disney and Google, go to bed.

Al and her friends cat

Cheryl at Wembury

This is what happens when I get up!

Alice and her mate, Orla, at Wembury

Just to let you know that if you were aware that Google had a couple of visits to the vets last week to have a look at the rather large bump on his foot it all turned out OK. And we all know how much Google loves a visit to the vets.

The Vets rang us on Thursday to say that the result of the biopsy meant that he could remove the dressing and go for his usual walk in Plymbridge over the weekend. Phew!

Because the dressing was removed it meant that the bump was open to the world. Unfortunately that also meant that Google could lick / bite it. It now doesn't look very nice at all. I have to check in a minute, but I think that dogs have an antiseptic on their tongues, I hope so as he has a hole where the bump used to be! Not a pretty sight.

On top of that the the rather damaged Green Army served up a cracking game on Saturday to beat Walsall 2-0. All we need now is a miracle and we can apply to the church to put Peter Reid up for Sainthood. As I believe Saint Peter has already been used I think Saint Readie will have to suffice.

I must take this opportunity to say "Congrats" to Tony and Donna over their forthcoming wedding. Good luck and lots of love to you both.

The Groomer visits

Hi everyone. In case you haven't met me before my name is Google. My brother is called Disney and he is upstairs asleep. He is asleep because daddy had a day off work and took us for a lovely long walk out to Plymbridge. I was a bit surprised as normally when daddy takes us out there we go out a bit later. Today it was still dark when he got up. Still we had a super walk. Little did we realise why!!

I tried to tell Disney that something was going on. But as usual he just told me I was being paranoid. I don't know what a paranoid is but I ain't one, I keep telling him I am a Westie. He can be so dumb sometimes.

We were so tired we couldn't decide whose turn it was to get the ball. Well I certainly wasn't going to get up. He has been up here for longer than me so it must be his turn.

Me and Disney have a motto. If in doubt sleep on it. It was one big walk though.

Look it's me Google. No I am not a different dog. Daddy took me out to a van that was parked outside our house. They cut off all my hair!! Then they shoved me in a bath!! It was one dirty trick, I have been in our car lots of times but no-one told me they had vans driving around with a bath and shower in them!! I am going to watch out in future. Disney saw it pull up through the window, I wondered why he legged it to the back court. But there is some good news. Give you one guess who is in the van right now!!! he! he! he!

Sorry folks but it has been a real tough day. I an one stressed out guy!!!

Disney is back in. Look at that hairstyle. Cool man!!!! We agreed that we should keep an eye out for that van. It's his turn now.

There is a white van out there. Disney said the one that tortured us had writing on the side. We remain vigilant!

Misty, one of our mates from the park is falling about laughing out there. We will sort her out next time we see her!

As you can see. Disney is not the best dog to leave on guard duty! If that van turns up though I can do a runner and maybe they will be happy to just collar him??

Talking about collars. The bling has come off mine, we are just seeing if we can find it!
Oh. Time for our evening stroll up the park. See you all later. Disney sends his love.
