Good day to one and all. I am a vulnerable virgin so please be gentle with me.

I assume it is good form to introduce oneself so here we go.

The main contribution to this blog is likely to be from myself, that is, Paul of Paul and Val fame. Val is unlikely to want to know what is on here until our Granddaughter, Alice, decides that she would like to post a word or two. At that point I will be shunted into some siding only to reappear when boredom has set in.

I am a Civil Servant although that is a contradiction in terms really. I am neither although I assume I am the combined thing.

I spent 22 years serving Queen and Country in the Royal Air Force and am very pleased to say that my efforts were rewarded with a pension that comes in very useful considering the rather tight reign that the Chancellor keeps on Civil Service pay. I can hear the crying into your handkerchiefs now.

I am immensely relieved to discover that Blogging is accompanied by a spellcheck. I can but hope that it is the queens language but strongly suspect that I am going to find an awful lot of z's where there should s's.

Anyway I digress, stick with me and you will find that I am inclined to vear off on a tangent at the most inopportune moments. I do like this spellchecker.

I think I will stop now as I really haven't got the first idea where on my blog this is going to appear. I assume it will be the first post but I haven't put the obligatory photo in yet. Ah well, as in life, I assume all will become clear. Bye for now, you go make a nice cup of tea whilst I try and figure this out.

I know you are saying that I should read the instructions, but I am really crap at that. well, I am OK reading but following instructions - now there is a personality trait that I could really get my teeth into.
