Al - First day at new school

I have just found out that Disney has been using this blog to spread unfounded rumours about the way he has been treated. He gets full board and lodging - two square meals a day plus some extras along the way. Full health insurance. TV, heating and two escorted walks a day. All he has to do is be prepared to warn us of any possible intruders.
To be fair, he does the warning bit very well - just ask our neighbours!
I think he just isn't grateful. Well is he in for a surprise, he will moan like hell when he discovers that when he goes a licking - well lets just say he will find out what "snip snip" means!!
Back to the purpose of today's posting. Alice started her new school today, Val couldn't let the moment pass without taking a photo or two. Ches was all emotional this morning waving her little girl off to big school, and Val wasn't far behind!!
The next chapter of her life begins. She enjoyed herself today so let us hope that bodes well for the future.

Plymouth High School for Girls has it's next intake. Five years and we will be worried about GCSE results!!!

You all look after yourselves. And as usual feel free to comment.

You are just not going to believe this!

Look what they have done to me now! Look I am sorry for hijacking this blog, but just look!
It started this morning when Mum, Mummy Cheryl and Mummy Alice took me out for a ride. They kept looking at me and clicking two fingers together and barking "snip snip". I must admit I haven't worked out what that was all about but I digress.
It turned out it wasn't a ride, we went to my hospital. Now it's OK there, the doc is fine and the nurses usually give me a biscuit or two. OK, they prod and poke a bit but that's OK by me for the grub.
Today was different though. My family handed me over and I got put into prison! Yeah, you read right, PRISON!!! There were some other dogs there and, I hate to say this but I am sure I smelt some cats as well.
I chatted to the guys and no one knew what they had done. I reckon I overdid it a bit chewing on the wallpaper last night, but not enough to go down for it! Some of the guys said they didn't feel well so I reckoned it was something to do with the hospital.
Not long after I got there I got to thinking when is feeding time. The old man went out this morning and forgot my breakfast, I put it down to his age. He was a bit cuddly though. Kept smoothing me more than usual.
A bit later one of the nurses came along and took me to see the doc. I got jabbed but that was OK as it wasn't exactly the first time eh? I must have been tired as I just flaked out. Next thing I know I come around back in my cell. Hell, I was really tired. Must have been the walk last night.
The nurse came back and took me out again, I thought I was back to the doc. But it was my Mum. She was all over me, I kept trying to tell her I was shattered.
Then they stuck the lampshade on me. Why I ask you. I can't do a thing. Mum drove me home and I have had nothing but lovin'. I reckon they are sorry for putting me in prison, all a misunderstanding.
But I still have this thing on my head. The old man went out hunting and came back with a chicken. Would you believe he caught it and cooked it whilst out, you have to give credit when it's due!
He gave me a load of chicken, not scraps. Oh no, I got bits off the bird straight into my mouth!!!!
Good really as I can't do a thing with the lampshade on.
Well I have to go now. Still can't work out this "snip snip" thing. Will let you know when I have it figured.
Must go as I am shattered still
All my love

Humiliated again - but I got my own back!

Little did I know what was going to happen.

Yeah, all loving to get my confidence.

Now I ask you. Is this cruelty to dogs or what!

Only agreed if they would wear them as well.

Just in case you were worried that I couldn't get them off.

Couldn't believe they agreed to wear them. Humans - pretty dumb lot really.

This is the one I employ to pick up my poo when we are out. I try to walk him a couple of times a day, but still can't get the spare tyre off him. He calls himself the Alpha Male - look in the mirror sunshine and get real!

This is the trouble maker. I'll bet she bought the ears.

This is me on duty with my head down hiding. Do I look asleep??

And this is me in my usual alert position.
You will just not believe what my humans have been up to now!!
Look, let us get something clear here. I am now 3 1/2 years old (6 months in human years). I have my dignity and street cred to consider.
I have put the pictures on above as proof of the crazy world I have to live in. Have a close look and I will give you one guess as to where two of my humans have just come back from!! They could have brought me back a snazy coat. A new dinner bowl. A bouncy ball. A thousand and one things if you think about it. My mum got a mug that described her to a T, one of the seven dwarfs - Grumpy! The old boy got this paperweight that you shake and it looks like snow. Not sure what that is but I overheard them talking about it. Something about white stuff that comes from up above - yeah, I will believe that when I see it!
Anyway, I digress. They got some pretty snazzy pressies. So what did I get. Just look at the pictures. For heavens sake - I ask you. If the guys and gals up the Blockhouse get to see these I will never live it down.
I fought the fight to stop them putting them on and only agreed when the humans agreed to look stupid as well - I think they succeeded !!
I was actually on guard duty when they dragged me away from my post. I had to go quietly as the old boy look a shot of me sleeping on duty, so he says. I was just keeping my head down so I wouldn't get spotted by a roaming enemy pack, look at the photo and judge for yourself. I think you will agree with me!

The house returns to peace tomorrow as the old boy goes back to hunting for the day. He goes out every day and only comes back with food one in six. Not the best hunter in the world!
He has been lazing around for over 20 weeks now (3 weeks in human years). At least I got to take him out to see the guys and gals up the park a couple of times a day. Gosh, look at the time. Time for my night shift.
Bye for now
Love. Disney.

Alice and her mates from school

Al and Jazzy

Me after a hard days work - now sheared!

Sheared like a flaming sheep - humiliated!!
Hi all
It's me again. I've taken over the old boys blog to show you the continued deprivation inflicted upon me.
I can only assume that in revenge for me going public about the hurt and pain I suffered just for being me - see previous post in case you missed the horror. They put me in the car and took me for a ride. I thought, as would you all, that we were heading for the park. Oh no not this time, it was like the gangster movies "let me take you for a ride".
I was taken to this strange house type place. I got a bit concerned when I saw some really unhappy canines coming out - boy did they smell. None of your honest to goodness mess smells. This was awful. It was like the smell you get from those coloured things that grow in the garden. You know the ones that if you have a bit of fun with the humans start barking like there is a whole enemy pack heading in our direction. Weird species aren't they? Some times I just do not understand them - do the same thing and sometimes they bark like hell and other times they show their teeth and start gasping for breath, yep just weird.
Where was I? oh yep I remember the house place. Well I was dragged in, not allowed a good old sniff - not that I wanted too, did I mention the smell?
I got handed over to this human female dressed like a dog doctor. I thought oh hell not another prod and poke. They do like their poke don't they, can't they just sniff the bum like civilised animals? Sorry getting distracted again.
Anyway this woman. No doctor her. She tried to flaming drown me, covered me in white frothy stuff that frankly tasted awful. I fought back and managed to save myself. Then you will never guess what happened then. I got bloody well sheared!! Yeah I am not joking, sheared like a sheep. UNBELIEVABLE.
Pictures above to prove. Where are the RSPCA when you need them eh!!!
I have also put in some picture of the smaller members of the pack. One is around here nearly every day, I love her she is nice, they call her Alice. The others seem to belong to other packs and join up with us to create noise. It's fun, we all bark together. The old boy and old girl get a bit uptight sometimes - old fogies just don't know how to have fun.
Well must go before I get caught, I dread to think what will happen next, probably skinned alive or something!!
Look after yourselves.
Love

My family do not understand me

Me. Only a little wet after my walk.

That's sorted the Alpha males tubs for him.

Time for a kip after all that work.

Evidence of cruelty as explained below. Told you didn't I. This is where they put me after the water torture compartment.

Managed to get that flaming cloth a couple of times. They were rubbing me all over - couldn't even get a good shake going!!

Yeah I admit. I gave up. Could get out of the prison tub they put me in - so no choice.

My true story by Disney. A Tale of cruelty that you will not believe.

Hi

My name is Disney and I am a West Highland White Terrier. A am nearly four and a half months old now so you would think that my family would understand that I have a mind and life of my own.

It's always "Disney do this", "Disney do that" don't they realise I have to watch out for intruders all day?

Even when I get my head down for forty well deserved winks I get it. "Isn't he cute" yeah OK, but is there a need to pick me up? I ask you!!

I will give a simple example of the sort of things I have to put up with.

I took the alpha male out for a walk, poor old guy has trouble keeping up with me so I had to keep stopping. Well, it get boring doesn't it and the wet grass looked sooo inviting. What is a guy supposed to do eh? You just have to have a roll don't you.

Got home to see her indoors. She went on a bit. Heck, I was only wet it would have dried off for heavens sake. But no, not allowed on her newly cleaned carpet so we all sat in the kitchen. You know, the kitchen by the back door.

They had there cup of tea but nope, Disney can't have anything to eat after being out on a walk. Bloat they claim. Have you seen those two, Yeah Bloat City there my friends. That's what you get if you have a cup of tea and biscuits within half an hour of a walk!

So, there they are chatting and drinking. I am stuck on the floor, no-one wants a cuddle now do they. Let's wait till he is dry and ASLEEP!!!!

But I digress. Did I mention the kitchen is near a door leading onto my yard. Those flower tubs have been asking for it for a while now. I was to small to get into them before, but now I'm a big guy. Well, I did for 'em good and proper. Dug them out so the Alpha male doesn't have to worry himself about them. Her indoors is always giving the old lugs a bit of a bashing. Poor old guy spends all day out hunting so I thought he would be grateful.
Nope. Humans, who can understand them. They shoved me in this little compartment and subjected me to water torture! Can you believe it. you would think I was some sort of flaming terrorist! They even shoved some stuff on me that stinks just like those flaming flowers I got rid of for them.

Well, must go. Time for another patrol. I have attached photos as proof of the insanity of humans. But hey, you gotta love the cute little varmits haven't you.
Stop for a chat if we meet on a walk.

Love to all

Val's Birthday - 56 !!!!

Happy Birthday today to Val, not changed a bit since we met. That was Jan 31 1968. Since then my eyes and hearing have both gone pear shaped!!!
I had today off courtesy of Her Majesty the Queen. Thanks Liz, appreciate it.
Al had to go to school. Ches was off today. So we three plus Disney took a wonder out onto Dartmoor. Got caught up in a roundup of sheep which occupied some well behaved and intelligent dogs - until they spotted Disney and came over for a look. Man on horse had to get them back!!
Val says many thanks for cards / pressies / e-mails received. Hopes you are all keeping well. Weather here fine just hope Northern Hemisphere isn't to cold now it's winter!! Yeah, I know your winter is warmer than most of our summer!! Anyway, love to all down under.
Well, thought you may like to see the latest from HR - He of the red ink!! Our congrats go to HR and JJ. The subject he is talking about below is "Je heb en hel moi hondje !!" I wouldn't know if he has got it right or not - and he knows that!! He could be saying something rude for all I know - and that would not surprise me either!!!

"Hiya, I think the Dutch "subject" is OK it means you have a very nice doglet .

Sorry I have been quiet but thanks to looking at the wrong kind of things on the internet (yup... Morris Dancers) I had a PC virus and it stopped me getting on the internet. Thanks to a friend I have installed Avast , which is a freeware item designed by a sailor!

Now I am back on and my biggest problem is getting rid of my useless Norton "actually I don`t stop viruses I let them pass through unscathed" program. Like Gordon Brown it won`t go when it ought (or Margaret Thatcher too I suppose).

I have news and that is : JJ and I are getting married next July ! She will become Mevrouw Johanne Jantje Holden-Rushworth ! or JJ H-Rat the moment her "callsign" is W2B , or "Wife to be". She has begun calling me Hubby !Its cute.
This is significant because she has previously retained her Family Name of Danhof when married before. So I am a very happy ted. I have lots more to tell but will catch up later. i have to wash the dishes !!

You can put any of this on the blog if you like. Its good to see you all happy and that Hondje is supercute !! Bob and JJ xx"
We are really happy for them and hope you all join us in wishing them the best in their new life together.
As a footnote I would just like to say congrats to Mrs Nikki Waldron and her hubby on the birth of their little one. I hear it was a fairly long labour so mum was probably a tad tired afterwards - yeah OK only a bloke could say that. Start saving for the University slot now Nikki!!!
